Arts Centre Melbourne presents as part of the New Hamer Hall opening season
Raising the Roof
Devised and Curated by Graeme Leak and Patrick Cronin.
Hosted by Julia Zemiro.
A grand-scale music making celebration!
Vocal and instrumental ensembles from across Victoria come together through musical collaboration.
Hamer Hall and its foyers and terraces will be filled with community music-makers from Asian, Indigenous, African, Pacific, Middle Eastern and European musical traditions along with backyard ukulele players, table-top drummers, bathroom sopranos and YOU!
Culminating in a concert in September, the audience joins the celebration of music making by singing, clapping and stomping to Raise the Roof.
"Graeme can bring people together and make music out of
anything, with a great sense of fun." Andrew Bleby,
Director of 2006 Commonwealth Games Cultural Festival
